Read.cv closed. Here is where a developer profile can live now.
Read.cv shut down on 16 May 2025, a few months after Perplexity acquired the team. Profiles stopped resolving and the export window closed with them. If you had one and never replaced it, this page is about where the work goes next.
getfolio.dev is a developer portfolio that syncs with GitHub. Repos, stars, languages and contribution history come in on their own, so the page keeps reflecting what you actually build without you editing it every few months.
What Read.cv got right
Read.cv was writing-first and quiet about it. One clean layout, no theme fiddling, prose at the centre. That suited designers, writers and PMs better than it suited developers, because nothing on the page came from the code you had shipped. You described your work instead of showing it.

Starting again without an export
There is no importer, and by now there is nothing left to import from. There is also less to rebuild than you would expect. Connect GitHub and the projects, languages and contribution graph populate themselves. The bio and the stack are the only parts you write, and Leon, the reviewer built into the editor, drafts a first pass at both and scores the result. Setup runs under two minutes.
Read.cv is not coming back, and the lesson worth keeping from it is that a profile you have to maintain by hand is a profile that goes stale. That is the part getfolio takes off you.
